Hi Martha...found your blog with a random hit and I've enjoyed it. Baby is cute.
I graduated from Tech in 81 (eons ago) with a teaching degree, love austin, though i've never lived there. i taught in the dominican republic for while, came back to fort worth, got married, had five kids, moved to ohio, got divorced, moved to virginia, found myself and got happy. it only gets better.
i loved reading your posts about teaching - sounds like you are committed to your kids. i encourage you to fight hard to maintain your integrity in the face of standardized tests; the system will do its level best to beat to into conformity.
also, bad subs are the WORST - excpet that the mess they leave behind presents great teachable moments and usually provokes some severe loyalty on the part of your kids...
