no w. either

Posted by Hello w, the good ole boy, will not be getting my vote this november either. going along with my whole pro-life theme, i'm vehemently against the death penalty. it just doesn't make any sense to me: it costs more, is not a deterrent for crime and if we're wrong in it's application there's no going back. but i digress. bush likes to apply capital punishment like it's goin out of style. apparently he misses it so much that he felt the need to send our troops into iraq for monetary reasons. (ok, so that was overly harsh, but i don't think as a christian it's ok for him to enter into an unjust war.) so in the end, it is bush's blood lust that prevents me from voting for him in good conscience.

  • hey, this is jonna...didn't want to post annonymously but didn't want to sign up either. anyway...have you ever talked to a marine that was in iraq when the war first started? not someone in the army or navy...but a marine? jason (my brother) was over there and said that the looks of terror on people's faces at the mention of saddam's name justified the war for him. what also made him happy to be there was the gratitude these people gave them when they were liberated. i will not go so far as to deny that there are monetary benefits of this war...but that's not the main reason we're there. we're there to help other human beings be able to worship God like we do, without fear of death.

  • don't get me wrong, i totally think that iraqis are gonna end up better off because of this war. (or at least i really hope they are.) i just don't understand why we didn't do anything about n. korea, saudi arabia or almost any other nation in the middle east if we're really worried about protecting ourselves.

if we want to help people of other nations, why aren't we acting aggressively towards sudan? it bothers me that we hear almost nothing about what's happening there right now. our government just weakened a UN draft that would have placed sanctions on the sudanese governtment. it's a country where mass rape and murder happen on pretty much a daily basis. where is the american compassion for them?

but i think we all could guess why we've stayed out of all these other trouble spots: they don't have as much oil.
