He is not a good actor. I know the producers of Punk’d and they make it look like he writes the show but he doesn’t. And he makes it seem as though the show is his entire brainchild, but if you sat down with him for 10 minutes you’d see that anything funny is not his.”

I see this problem as a valid one, but represents a deeper social misalignment of our society. Because we are now in a smaller world thru technology we have also increasingly isolated ourselves. Such isolation has caused us to have a need to recreate a social structure that represents what people we expect in our society. Therefore celebrities who are talentless will always rise because they fit a perceived role within our imaginary society. We as a society need the village idiot, the crack-whore, the person with a bigger butt than our own. It makes us feel like a part of something bigger, and helps us to identify with strangers that we meet every day. If I say to a friend, "Can you believe how crazy Martha was with her Lubbock friends this weekend?" That would illicit no response; however, if I say "Can you believe that Tara Reid had her boob pop out at a party?" Suddenly I have a means of connecting with another individual in society. Yeah it's base, but it will always exist, so we might as well learn to live with it. Celebrities are made because they fill a character role desired by our society, not because they are deserving of our attention.
