bursting my bubble
the one thing that will always be able to crush whatever sort of ego i may be developing is............drum roll please...........being seated at the kid's table. just when i thought i was becoming a real, live grown up i get demoted to eat with the teenagers and 3rd graders. apparently a college degree and a profession don't carry much weight in that decision. guess it's another reason for me to get one of those "husband" things.

Have you thought about incorporating a blog into your English curriculum?

um, do you mean like to post interesting things for them to read or resources?

I would imagine that there are a variety of ways to incorporate a blog. One of those could be to use a blog to disseminate interesting things to read. Another could be that they could actively participate by posting on a communal/classroom blog as "team members." Another could be that they keep their own blog. Just some ideas.

that could be a good idea at some point. but unfortunately this first year it's pretty impractical. a lot of my kids probably won't have internet at home, and realistically if they do i doubt they'll want to spend their time posting about english. but who knows, maybe when i'm older/wiser/have more time.
